Head Chef

Meliteh Recruiting, on behalf of our esteemed client, is looking for an experienced and innovative Head Chef to lead their kitchen team in Malta.
This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional to bring creativity and leadership to a dynamic restaurant, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Role Requirements:
• A minimum of two to three years of experience in a Head Chef or similar role.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with the ability to plan and delegate tasks efficiently
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity in culinary presentation
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and standards
• Willingness to work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams, mentoring and training staff as needed
• Ensure that all food preparation, storage areas, equipment, and machinery are clean and in good repair
• In possession of a valid Skills Pass (www.skillspass.org.mt)
• Legal right to live and work in Europe
Main Duties:
• Led and managed the kitchen team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and maintaining consistently exceptional dining experiences
• Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, ensuring all areas are well-stocked, sanitized, and prepared for service
• Delegate the setup and breakdown of the kitchen before and after service, ensuring all equipment, tools, and ingredients are ready and properly maintained
• Manage ingredient procurement and stock control to ensure freshness, and quality, and minimize waste
• Collaborate with management to plan menus, creating innovative and seasonal dishes that align with the restaurant’s concept and guest preferences
• Foster training programs for senior chefs, encouraging professional growth and maintaining high culinary standards across the team
• Ensure strict adherence to the site's allergen procedure and other food safety standards
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen and service, providing guidance on menu items
• Establish and maintain food hygiene policies, ensuring compliance with proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices
• Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new kitchen staff, integrating them effectively into the team
