Head Pastry Chef

Meliteh Recruiting is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry operations for our client’s various establishments in Malta.

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and strong leadership to the kitchens, ensuring the highest quality of desserts and baked goods that reflect a commitment to excellence in both Asian and Mediterranean culinary traditions.

This role requires a dedication to research and development to continuously innovate and refine the dessert offerings.

Role Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or in a similar leadership role within the culinary industry
  • Expertise in both Asian and Mediterranean pastry techniques and ingredients
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion for innovation and excellence in pastry arts
  • Ability to travel to London and other locations as required
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
  • Right to live and work in Europe
Main Duties:
  • Led, mentored, and developed a team of pastry chefs and assistants across multiple locations
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items in line with brand standards
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment
  • Create and implement innovative dessert menus that complement Asian and Mediterranean cuisine
  • Conduct regular R&D to stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients
  • Collaborate with the executive chef and culinary team to design seasonal and special event menus
  • Oversee daily pastry operations, including production schedules, inventory management, and cost control
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all pastry kitchens
  • Provide ongoing training and support to pastry team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Implement standard operating procedures and best practices across all locations
  • Travel to London as needed to support the opening of a new restaurant
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of pastry staff for new locations
