Assistant Maintenance Manager

Meliteh Recruiting is seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager on behalf of our well-known client, to join their maintenance team in Malta. This role focuses on ensuring the effective operation of all maintenance activities across the group.

The Assistant Maintenance Manager will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks, overseeing in-house and outsourced projects, and ensuring high standards of maintenance are met in a timely manner.

This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively liaise with the Maintenance Manager and other department heads.

Role Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Higher Technical Diploma (HTD) in a relevant technical field or an equivalent qualification
  • Valid Local Electrical License A
  • Familiarity with HVAC, ELV systems, and hotel management systems like BMS and RMS
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including email communication and reporting tools
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in English
Main Duties:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance operations across departments to ensure efficient workflows
  • Prioritize, plan, and adjust work schedules based on operational needs and project urgency
  • Oversee both in-house and outsourced maintenance work to ensure timely project completion
  • Communicate regularly with the Maintenance Manager and department heads regarding project progress and potential impacts on operations
  • Approve purchase orders and invoices, ensuring cost-effectiveness in materials and services
  • Review and assess quotes for materials and outsourced services to secure competitive pricing
  • Ensure optimal functionality of systems such as HVAC, ELV, BMS, and RMS, with regular planning for preventive maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify and resolve maintenance issues
