Head of Commercials

Meliteh Recruiting is seeking a motivated and strategic Head of Commercials on behalf of our well-known client to join their team in Malta.

This is an innovative financial technology company in payment card acquiring that provides European merchants with state-of-the-art solutions for their payment card transaction needs.

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), this role is responsible for overseeing and driving the company’s sales activities across the UK and Europe.

The Head of Commercials will lead a high-performing sales team, build and nurture key merchant and partner relationships, and implement strategies to achieve business growth, customer satisfaction, and financial targets.

Role Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior sales or commercial leadership role, preferably within payment solutions, financial services, or technology sectors
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating diverse teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with expertise in market research, financial planning, and reporting
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute effective sales and business strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets while managing budgets and operational costs
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and the UK for client meetings, events, and conferences
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Main Duties:
  • Develop, plan, and implement sales strategies aligned with company goals to promote growth in the UK and European markets
  • Directly engage in selling to merchants, ensuring targets are met and exceeded
  • Manage and coordinate the sales and partner staff, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to drive team success and professional growth
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key account merchants and strategic partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client needs and develop acquisition and retention strategies
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and mitigate future risks
  • Collaborate with various departments, including account management, marketing, risk, and finance, to align commercial activities with broader business objectives
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budgets, monitor performance, and report key metrics to senior management
  • Analyze and optimize commercial performance to achieve revenue and profitability goals
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote its brand and forge new connections
  • Embrace a dynamic role by taking on tasks beyond the job description as required by business needs
